Can you desribe your very first memory? What's the very first thing you can remember...........................ever? Maybe it was a dream, or maybe my overly active imagination got the best of me but my first memory is of a Boston Terrier named, oddly enough, "Toy". Toy was anything but a small dog. Throughout the history of Bostons it wasn't unusual to find Bostons well over 25 pounds. Toy was one of those bigger Bostons and gave our family unlimited love and joy. For some unknown reason, Toy is the first thing I can remember . When I was growing up in small town Georgia, my family always had Bostons. Of course back then my dad often referred to them as "Boston Bulldogs" or "Boston Bulls" and we had them in combination with a variety of other breeds through the years. The Boston Terrier was firmly established as a part of our family and forever has held a place in my heart. I had no idea what a dog show was or involved, I had no idea there were folks who bred this outstanding breed............I just loved Boston Terriers. Many years later, I met Mark Metzger and he was introduced to the breed through a crazy, fun little guy named Buddy. As luck would have it, Mark and I met a wonderful lady named Sandra Miller. Sandra gave us the information that led us head-on into the sport of purebred dogs and breeding the Boston. We met Melany Anaya when looking for a new puppy to keep our Boston Bogie company. As luck would have it, we discovered that our Bogie was a son of one of Melany's great dogs Adam. Melany has answered our unending questions and offered enthusiastic support as we've embarked on this exciting adventure. So here we are.........still learning, still working at it and still loving the Boston Terrier. Mark and I both have "George" in our names so it was a logical choice to call our new adventure DoubleGeorge Boston Terriers. (George) Scott Chandler/ Mark (George) Metzger |
